Wine Summary
A roaring red from the talented Elena Brooks, a big, rich, powerful, lavish McLaren Vale Shiraz, hand-crafted with skill and passion from beginning to end. Hand-picked, whole bunch fermented with ambient yeasts, hand-plunged, basket-pressed and then allowed to slumber in new and old French oak for 18 months before being bottled … no fining, no filtration …just the essence of the vineyard (Angus and Helen Tuck’s old vine, ironstone pebbled vineyard in the Baker’s Gully subregion) and the richness of McLaren Vale Shiraz. On the nose, vibrant cherry liqueur chocolate aromas swirl up from the glass. On the palate, lush, red fruits jostle with black cherries, plums, dark chocolate, vanilla and sweet spice. Smooth, fine tannins lead to a long, luxurious finish. It’s won Gold (five times!) and Platinum. Stock up!
