Affogato hails from the impressive Torrevento winery in the wilds of southern Italy. Puglia is famous for producing rich, flavoursome reds from the region's thrilling native varieties - and Affogato doesn't break that mould. It's a blend of smoky Nero di Troia, berry ripe Negroamaro and plummy Primitivo, sourced from gnarled bush vines. High summer temperatures ensure the grapes struggle for water, resulting in fruit of tremendous concentration. Partial oak ageing gives a smooth, refined finish to this ripe, balanced red. It's a lovely solo sipper and a great match for antipasti.
