Wine Summary
Création d’Emilie is crafted by Jean-Pierre Boisson, daughter Emilie and son Nicolas at Domaine du Père Caboche. Their family have been associated with Châteauneuf du Pape for centuries now, with Jean-Pierre himself a former mayor of Châteauneuf du Pape. Création d’Emilie combines the four main terroirs of the Châteauneuf appellation: Le Crau, its famous, finest cru, with pebbles on red clay that contribute to the fullness and density of the wine; Les Serres, pebbles and alluvium, great for Grenache; and Les Plagnes (pebbly soil) and Le Parc (limestone), both good for Syrah. The 2017 has terrific density, ripe tannins, dark fruits and delicious freshness. For drinking now, decant in advance and serve with roast game, lamb or ratatouille.
