Wine Summary
Andrew Margan entered the wine industry over 20 years ago, and has worked as a Flying Winemaker in Europe, and for Hunter Valley’s iconic Tyrrell’s. His father was a winemaker too, and their family estate, established in 1996 on family-owned vineyards bought in 1989, is has a Halliday 5 Black Star rating. It is fast moving towards being both Carbon Neutral and 100% organic, and has won many awards both for tourism and its fine range of elegant wines – like this 95pt Shiraz.
“From 40yo estate vines on a patch of red volcanic soil in Fordwich. The wine is still very fresh, black and red cherry leading the way, the more usual black fruits in a support role. The price is very appealing indeed... 95pts. Great Value.” (Halliday).
