The Black Pig Shiraz claims No. 1 spot, which we can’t say surprised us. It fought o sti competition from Zonte’s Footstep Lake Doctor Shiraz, with the consistent bestseller Bentwing Cabernet coming in third. Two-time Gold-medal Caravan, a pure Petite Sirah (aka Durif) from the talented John Quarisa, and Kilikanoon’s superb value and highly rated Baroota Shiraz garnered high praise from fans – and the delightfully succulent Bene cio GSM rounds o this truly impressive red sextet in ne, full- avoured style. Competition was intense among the whites with Angove’s ‘Limited Release’ Semillon Sauvignon just pipping Moonlake Riesling from Clare Valley and New Zealand’s Hot Seat Sauvignon into No.1 spot. (And exciting to see a Riesling so high in the list!) A second SSB – from the always exceptional Forester Estate of Margaret River lls fourth spot, and the whites are completed by two longtime favourites in Scarpantoni’s modern-style, unoaked Chardonnay and the memorably aromatic Back Shed Pinot Gris from RedHeads.
