The Wine
Chalk Hill is owned by the Harvey family, who have been growing grapes in McLaren Vale for six generations. Their Slate Hill vineyard in Willunga was planted in 1897 – nearly 123 years ago – and the ancient vines still bear fruit today. The family are dedicated to making small batch, hand-crafted wines of distinction that showcase the McLaren Vale region. Their Vermentino has an impressive pedigree – in 2015 it took out the International Judge’s Wine of Show Trophy – a gigantic feat! The 2019 shows all the same radiance and style. It’s a beautiful wine, full of bright white citrus and floral fruit with a dazzling crispness
