The Wine
The Artisan, a skilled craftsman producing high quality wines in small quantities using traditional methods. Allegiance Wines The Artisan is a small batch release of outstanding wine expressing the finest regional and varietal characters, all with a cellar potential of 5-6 years. The bright palate is abundant with forest fruits and berries with juicy acidity giving impressive length.
"100% barbera, 10yo vines, wild ferment, no new oak, 18 months in barrel. It's raspberried, ferrous and light to medium-weight. It's sweet and marshmallow-y at first but it turns savoury as it travels along the palate. Orange rind notes add a certain prettiness and the finish is dry. It's a good drink in the end." (Halliday Wine Companion).
