Martínez Bujanda have been growers in Rioja for over a century. Since 1984, when they built a brand new, state-of-the-art cellar, they’ve been gaining top scores from critics as well as delighting Rioja fans. Very much of the modern school, their wines typically combine an elegant, claret-like structure with thrilling fruit intensity and well-balanced oak. Headed by Carlos Martínez Bujanda, Finca Valpiedra is a single estate with a superbly situated vineyard in a bend of the Ebro river, with a modern winery to match. They take the utmost care every step of the way. Winemaker is Lauren Rosillo, who selected finest Tempranillo, patiently maturing it in optimum conditions in the barrel cellar. Intense blackberry, cherry and raspberry flavours with firm vanilla oak. Enjoy with pink roast lamb or Spanish rice dishes.
