The Wine
Originally built by a battalion commander, the historic Château Roc de Minvielle was seized during the French Revolution and resold as a national property to the Gadras family, who have lovingly maintained it ever since. The current owner, Pierre Gadras, takes great care of his precious vines, thinning leaves to ensure the grapes get maximum sunshine, and pruning back for extra concentration. Made from smooth plummy Merlot with a splash of raspberry scented Cabernet Franc, this modern, fruit rich claret will be spot on with roast chicken or pork, and, if you've a drop left, with some mature farmhouse Cheddar.
