The Wine
The Schrapel family has been growing grapes in the Barossa Valley for 140 years, and their winery, which sits high on a hillside – on the site of an old bluestone quarry – has been around since 1981. “On the dutiful side of ripe, with currant, black olive and a broad swathe of nicely massaged tannins... a herbal potpourri, conferring savour, poise and drinkability. Use of oak is judicious, concentration levels just right. Another wine across a broad range, attesting to the ascension of quality at this estate... 92 points” (Halliday).
