The Wine

A delicious 1.5l Magnum-sized McLaren Vale Shiraz from the highly-rated Angove family. Angove make wine from all over South Australia, and McLaren Vale is one of their favourite stomping grounds. They have access to some of the finest vineyards in the Vale and the best parcels of special fruit.

Their hand-crafted wines show off the region’s expressive style to perfection. Here, dark chocolate, plum, and morello cherry flavours meld with delicious spice and creamy oak ... this is intensely dark and deliciously smooth. Great with a char-grilled steak.

Angove, now in its 5th generation, is one of the country's oldest family owned and run wineries. Dr. William Angove founded the company in 1886 in South Australia after emigrating from Cornwall in the UK, but it was his son Thomas ‘Skipper Carlyon Angove who cemented Angove Family Winemakers as a significant player in the Australian wine scene with both fortified and table wines. They still make gin, and of course their famous St Agnes brandies today. The new generation, under Richard Angove, continue to pioneer modern styles of wine with a focus on sustainability.
