New release of a modern Aussie classic. With a fabulous reputation for top-class Shiraz, Coriole’s Lloyd family are among the country’s most pioneering. They were among the very first to grow and produce Sangiovese (and Fiano) in Australia (back in 1985), and the quality of their Sangiovese today is exceptional. "Such a reliable performer.” wrote Gary Walsh, The Winefront.
Of the 2024, John Lehmann in The Australian wrote: "Sangiovese at its best. Vibrant scents of red cherries and strawberries, with hints of roses, black tea and spice. Great depth of flavour: sour cherry, raspberry with vanilla. Smooth tannins coat the mouth while crisp acidity balances the fruit perfectly."
Coriole has maintained a Halliday top-rating for many years, and has a place in Halliday's TOP 100 estates. "Coriole is rich with history,,, But anyone that knows Coriole understands that it as much about progression as it is history. More so, perhaps. An early advocate and tireless champion for sangiovese, chenin blanc true believer, fiano and picpoul’s first Australian adopter, and tireless explorer of other Italian and Rhône varieties, there is an energy to Coriole that is infectious.” (Halliday).
