The Wine

This follow up vintage of a fine fresh, beautifully structured Cabernet Sauvignon that won Double Gold on debut last year, has picked up a Gold already. No surprise for us – this is delicious

"Ah Cab Sav, we know you well – there’s classic aromas from cassis and blackberry to turned earth, tobacco leaf and clove. The blackcurrant, blackberry and cedar on the tongue are well balanced with savoury notes but the juicy acidity make it happily approachable." (John Lehmann in The Australian).

It uses fruit both from vines in the Barossa Valley floor and from high altitude ones. around the family's Eden Valley grand 1845 Corryton Park Homestead. The winery is named after this homestead and of course, the family name of siblings Trent and Amelia Burge. Their father is Barossa legend Grant Burge, who is working with Trent and Amelia to create another chapter of winemaking glory for the Burge family.

Awarding a Double Gold to the debut 2022 vintage, the Gilbert & Gaillard judges noted its “Rich red colour with ruby reflections. Ripe black fruit on the nose, with hints of undergrowth and earth. The palate is deliciously fleshy, with invigorating, sweet tannins complementing the fruit admirably.”
