The Wine
A hugely popular Lake Breeze classic from Halliday Wine Companion Awards Best Value Winery of the Year 2022. This 2023 vintage with 92pts from Halliday. "I tip my hat to Lake Breeze. At all pricepoints, it offers excellent value and excellent wines. They are welcome additions at my table. Regional fruit flavours of choc-mint infusing cassis and blackberries, plums too, lot of brown spices with a hint of pepper. The palate is fuller bodied, coated in plump, ripe tannins, fleshy fruit and fresh acidity. It’s not all fruit here; it’s a little savoury with grip on the finish. Nice one. 92pts. Great Value" (Jane Faulkner, The Halliday Wine Companion). “I've been calling [the Lake Breeze 'Bernoota' Shiraz Cabernet] the best value red in the country since my twenties,” says Nick Ryan in The Weekend Australian. 'Bernoota’ was the original name given to the homestead on the Lake Breeze property - it is an Aboriginal name for ‘camp among the gum trees’.
