In 1985 Pikes Wines was set up by by viticulturist Andrew, his wife Cathy, and winemaking brother Neil, with support from parents, Merle and Edgar, and its first cellar door opened. A very popular destination and brand, as illustrated by its winning the Halliday Wine Companion’s People's Choice Award in 2022 and 2023. Pikes have made drinks – beer, soft drinks and cordials – and eventually wine in the 1980s – since shortly after Henry Pike arrived in Australia from Dorset, England in 1878.
